This session will take place in Elder Park Library from 10.30am to 1.30 pm. If you are interested in attending this then please contact us via the form below, and we will pass this on to the organisers.
This has been arranged by the Elder Park Working Group, as a pre-cursor to upcoming consultation on potential changes to the way Elder Park is managed. The 3 options for it’s future management are;
1. Council – led management (as is currently managed)
2. Co-operative management
3. Community-led management
We understand that details/ information on these 3 options are to be included in the agenda for this session, but that it will mainly be about Co-operative management: what is it, and how does it work? This workshop was devised by Glasgow Community Planning Partnership – South Sector, and will be led by Manchester’s Co-operative College.
The Friends of Elder Park Committee are really keen for as many interested local people as possible to come along. We don’t know yet what the best option for the park is, but we do know that people need to be in a position to have an informed opinion. We are hopeful that this session will be useful in this respect. We are also hopeful that it will be useful for local organisations/ voluntary groups who want to learn more about this method of management.
FoEP do not regard this workshop as being a consultation exercise, and will be active in sharing information about consultation plans when they are shared with us. Elder Park is the people’s park, so FoEP are aiming to ensure that as many people as possible know about everything that is happening…so you know what to do. Please spread the word; follow, like, share, tweet, and have a natter with your neighbours.
